Tartuffe: By Moliere, Directed by Amy Seham. Moliere's classic comedy satirizes bourgeois manners and skewers religious hypocrisy. A talented con artist, Tartuffe dupes the patriarch of a bourgeois family into thinking him a holy man. A hilarious farce (with a serious edge) ensues. Considered outrageous, even dangerous, in its first production in 1664, Tartuffe still has provocative power today.
