Join a conversation about creation stories on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in Olin Hall Room 103.

Dr. David Montgomery will explore the relationship between catastrophic floods in the distant past and flood legends. Cnté Sütá-Francis Bettelyoun will present, the Lakhota Creation Story: Our relationship to Unci Maka (Mother Earth) and Mitakuye Oyasin (all Our Relations) and what it means to be Lakhota.

Dr. David Montgomery is the current Rydell Scholar-in-Residence at Gustavus, a geologist, and author of The Rocks Don't Lie: A Geologist Investigates Noah's Flood.Cante Suta-Francis Bettelyoun, Oglala Lakhota is coordinator of the Native American Medicine Gardens-University of Minnesota and an expert in the integration of cultural and traditional practices of emotional healing.
