The Once and Future Bison: America's national mammal

"In the 150 years since bison were nearly extirpated, they have rebounded from a few hundred survivors to nearly half a million. Although it is almost nowhere allowed to be a wild animal, free to go and behave as it pleases, it's not a domesticated one either. This presentation will examine the prospects for bison as a wild animal in North America, tapping into over a decade of research by the presenter and his students asking: "How do we keep bison wild?"
