Description
The Laramie Project, written by Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theatre Project, directed by Amy Seham.
In 1998, 21-year old gay college student Matthew Shephard was brutally beaten, lashed to a fence outside Laramie, Wyoming, and left to die. Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theatre Project decided to explore the meanings of this tragedy and to ask, among other questions, "Why did this happen? Why in Laramie?" With insight, compassion, and even with humor, The Laramie Project brings our ideologies and beliefs into sharp focus. Talk-backs and panel discussions will follow most performances.
