The Genius of Srinivasa RamanujanApril 23, 2015 at 7–9 p.m.

Dr. Ken Ono (Emory University) will present the documentary "The Genius of Srinivasa Ramanujan". Dr. Ono will also talk about his summer, which was spent working on the upcoming Ramanujan film, "The Man Who Knew Infinity."

Srinivasa Ramanujan was a self-trained mathematician whose ideas befuddled the accumulated wisdom of western European mathematicians in the early 20th century. Dr. Ono will discuss the legacy of Ramanujan and host a post-documentary Q&A.

Gustavus artist Paul Granlund sculpted the Ramanujan bust that is in the Olin MCS Department. Grandlund's additional Ramanujan sculpture is displayed at the Royal Society in London.
