Description Internet2 is a research and development consortium led by over 200 US 70 companies and more than 40 universities working in partnership over affiliated organizations, including US government research laboratories to deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. The Internet2 community is enabling a new generation of network applications, creating a leading edge network capability for research and education, and fostering the transfer of technology and experience to the global Internet. Currently, video streaming, video conferencing, and sharing large data sets are major uses of Internet2. Ethan Sommer, Matt Dobosenski, and Chuck Niederriter will discuss how Internet2 is currently being used at Gustavus, how we plan to use it in the future, and how faculty can get involved. Teachers Talking Technology runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. in the Three Crowns Buffet; just sign in. Good conversation. Free lunch.
