Description

Relational learning encourages professor-student relationships that go beyond traditional classroom interactions, such as mentoring, one-on-one coaching, or serving as a confidant. Forming such rich relationships is something colleges like Gustavus publicize as a distinctive learning feature. Relational learning, however, is complex and engenders ethical lines that need to be explored. Join your colleagues for a lively conversation sharing our own experiences with forming those relationships with students and where potential trouble spots might lie. Discussion facilitated by Kathy Lund Dean. The program will be held at 11:30 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m.
