Description
The Vikarbyns Lilla Spelmanslag is a group of young fiddlers ranging in age from 17-25. Led by director Margaretha Mattsson, the ensemble plays music from the Dalarna Region of Sweden. All performers are current or former students at the music school in Rattvik, Sweden. The Vikarbyn Lilla Spelmanslag performs in traditional costume and plays many concerts, church services and dances throughout the year. The group also plays a variety of traditional folk music from various countries including Ireland and America. The ensmble has toured Iceland, Japan, Finland, Ireland, and the United States. This year they will be touring Minnesota and California.
