Description

This Sunday continue our lenten series: A call to Justice. During the season of Lent we will be exploring different issues of injustice. This week we're racial justice and welciome special guest, Joe Davis.

Joe Davis is a nationally known touring artist, educator, and speaker based in Minneapolis, MN. He employs poetry, music, theater, and dance to shape culture. His work has been featured on BET, CNN, and VH1. He is the Founder and Director of multimedia production company, The New Renaissance, the frontman of emerging soul funk band, The Poetic Diaspora, co-creator of JUSTmove, racial justice education through art, and author of We Rise Higher: Poems and Prayers for Graduates. He has keynoted, facilitated conversation, and served as teaching artist at hundreds of high schools and universities including programs in New York, Boston, and most recently as the Artist-in-Residence at Luther Seminary where he earned a Masters in Theology of the Arts.

We invite the community to take a plastic pledge to reduce their plastic consumption during the season of Lent. You can take the pledge here! Pledgees will be entered into a drawing to win some fun eco-friendly products.

A home away from home, the Sunday Worship Community is a group where you can feel welcome whoever you are, wherever you are, and however you are. We interpret liturgy (an ancient order of worship) in new ways and find the divine in a wide variety of music. Communion happens every Sunday and there are no exceptions to who is invited at the table. We're big on community and believe that worship happens best when we know each other. Visitors, doubters, believers, questioners-- there is room for all of us.

Worship includes time for reflection and connection through small groups.
