Gustavus Adolphus College is celebrating its 150th academic year. In honor of the town that has been the home of the College since 1876, Gustavus welcomes all St. Peter residents to a special day on campus.

Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No cost to attend.

All ages are welcome.

Fall Fest in the Linnaeus Arboretum

10 a.m. " 4 p.m.

  • Master Gardeners discussing how to care for perennials, shrubs, trees, annuals, and garden soil in the fall
  • Book signings: Herb Chilstrom, Bob Douglas, Dennis Johnson
  • Guided tours of the arboretum " include introduction of the new Coneflower Prairie
  • Hay rides in the arboretum
  • Pottery making demonstration and other artisans
  • Greet the alpacas
  • Paint mini pumpkins
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Face painting
  • St. Peter High School Marching Band concession stand fundraiser all day

Go on the roof of Olin Hall to learn more about astronomy and use the telescopes.

Geology Museum

10 a.m. " 4 p.m.

View the permanent collection of rocks and fossils, gems and including rocks that glow in the dark. Also view the new exhibit on the geology of the Minnesota River Valley and listen to a session on the geology of Nicollet County and Ask-a Geologist.

New Academic Building Tours

10 a.m. " 4 p.m.

Tour the new academic building located close to the football field.

The building is home to the departments of Communication Studies, Economic and Management, History, Psychology, and Sociology and Anthropology
