#MeToo: The Origins and Future of a Movement

Many public conversations about #MeToo erase or ignore the lengthy history of organized activism against sexual harassment and violence prior to 2017. Professor Alisa Rosenthal (Political Science) will discuss the fascinating history of this activism in the U.S. context, recovering its roots in the work of Africa-American women battling racism and sexism, and consider its lessons for our present moment.
