Screening of "I Love Lupe," Lecture and Q & A with director, digital artist Alma L??pezNovember 9, 2011 at 7–9:30 p.m.

Los Angeles based digital artist Alma L??pez will be presenting her new and controversial documentary entitled "I Love Lupe," which looks at the Chicana artistic tradition of reimagining Our Lady of Guadalupe, featuring a historic conversation between Chicana artists Yolanda L??pez, Ester Hern??ndez, and Alma L??pez. After the 45 minute screening L??pez will lecture on her newly released book Our Lady of Controversy: Alma Lopez's "Irreverent" Apparition, edited by Alicia Gaspar de Alba and Alma Lopez published by University of Texas Press, 2011 and take questions regarding both her documentary and her book. There will be books and DVD's for sale at the event, a book signing (hosted by the Book Mark), and a candy bar reception (hosted by the Diversity Center).
