Description

Sergio Schmucler is an independent filmmaker, screenwriter and novelist from Argentina. At age 18, he exiled in Mexico. Ever since that time, Schmucler has used his writing and filmmaking skills to reflect on issues related to human rights and cultural identity. "The Blue Shadow" or "La Sombra Azul" is a film portraying the real story of an Argentinean cop who was forced to torture political militants during Argentina's last dictatorship but refused to do it and was subsequently tortured by his peers. The screening will be followed by discussion/debate with filmmaker.
