Announcement: Ramadan events

Description

The month of Ramadan, holy to Muslims, begins around May 5 this year and ends June 4. This is a time of reflection and prayer. Many Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset throughout the month, abstaining from food and beverages. 

All are welcome at the following events, sponsored by the Office of the Chaplains:

--Friday April 26, 10-10:20 a.m. Ramadan, Iftar, and Food. Join student Mahrukh Khurram as she describes special foods and practices related to eating during Ramadan. Enjoy a sample delicacy at the end.  Bonnier Multifaith Center in Anderson. 

--Tuesday April 30, 10-10:20 a.m. What is Ramadan?  Dr. Fuad Naeem and Suleman Asif will speak about the meaning of the Holy Month of Ramadan for Muslims.  Christ Chapel.

--Friday May 3, 10-10:20 a.m.  Learn About Ramadan.   Learn about Ramadan. Join Mehreen Kamal as she explains how Muslims observe the Holy Month of Ramadan. Bonnier Multifaith Center in Anderson.

--Tuesday May 7, 8:15 pm to 10:15 pm. Ramadan Banquet (iftar). Registration required. Registration form will be posted on Chaplains' office website in late April.
