Description
On April 12, 2002, the documentary film "Questioning Faith" by Macky
Alston of River Films in New York will have a special sneak preview on campus before its national release on HBO/Cinemax in
May. The film, which covers Alston's three-year journey through seminary,
deals with the tough question about how a good God can exist if bad things happen. Inspired by the loss of Alston's friend Alan Smith, who died of AIDS upon entering Union Seminary in New York, the film covers the people he meets, creating a multi-faith dialogue about this issue
which is especially relevant in the times in which we are living. The event is free and open to the entire Gustavus community. Macky Alston will be here to introduce the film and will do a "fireside" chat following the film. Great for classes to attend! Refreshments will be provided. For more information and a synopsis of the film,
check out the website at
www.gustavus.edu/oncampus/churchrelations/youthday2002. Sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, the Dean of Students, the Office of the President, the Religion department, and the sponsors of Youth Day 2002.
