Description

"I Haven't Eaten if I Don't Have My Soup and Fufu": Using Ghanaian/African American Food and Foodways to Understand Transnationalism and Problematize Sustainability.

Psyche-Williams Forson, Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the award-winning author of Building Houses out of Chicken Legs: Women, Food, and Power (2006) is returning to Gustavus to give a public lecture on ways in which food customs play important roles in the preservation of cultural lifeways for migrant peoples and how the challenges of preserving food customs intersects with the conceptual ideal of "sustainability."
