Prof. Garrett Paul's Final Public LectureMay 5, 2014 at 7–8 p.m.

"Either/Or/Or/Or: or Why the End of Dualism means the Death of Existentialism, Humanism, and Anthropocentrism, but not the Death of Brahman, the Buddha, or God."

Professor of Religion, Garrett Paul, addresses the collapse of dualism and its significance for the contemporary Philosophy of Religions and Philosophical Theology. Responses will be given by Professor John Cha (Religion) and Gregory Walter (Associate Professor of Religion at St. Olaf).

The lecture commemorates over thirty years of outstanding teaching and service that Prof. Paul has contributed to the college, accentuated by his leadership as Chair of the Department of Religion and the Sponberg Chair of Ethics. He is co-author of The Emphatic Christian Center: Reforming Christian Political Practice (Abingdon, 1999), and numerous translations and articles in theology, philosophy of religion, philosophy of history, religion and the natural sciences.
