Problems With Unregistered HardwareMarch 17, 2004All day
Description
It appears that there were some configuration problems with some of the equipment that controls the re-direction that unregistered users (ethernet hardware addresses) are supposed to experience. Unregistered users should be redirected to a registration page anytime they request a page from off campus. This wasn't working correctly.
Some of the problems have been fixed. Un-proxied users will be handled correctly (if unregistered they will be re-directed). Proxied users will not work correctly (their requests will continue to work). We are aware of this problem, and working on a solution.
In the mean time -- any users trying to register their hardware should turn proxies off and it should work. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
