Description
"Poetry by Heart" -- a celebration of National Poetry Month. People will recite their favorite poems from memory. Everyone is invited to share a poem they've memorized -- classic or contemporary or one of their own. Open-mic sessions throughout the afternoon. Visiting poets, local poets, campus poets, poetry fans from anywhere.
Special feature presentation at 3 p.m. -- visiting poet Ann Schauer will perform Samuel Taylor Coleridge's supernatural masterpiece, "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," in its thrilling entirety. Refreshments and door prizes. Sponsored by: Writer-in-Residence Program of the Department of English and the Book Mark.
