Thomas Rossing, Professor of Physics at Northern Illinois University, will present a talk, "The Physics of Guitars," on Thursday, October 11 at 7:30 PM in Olin 103. This talk is suitable for a general audience. Rossing is one of the world's leading experts on acoustics of musical instruments and author of several textbooks and numerous articles. He is the 2000 recipient of the Robert A. Millikan Award from the American Association of Physics Teachers. This award recognizes teachers who have made notable and creative contributions to the teaching of physics. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by: Society of Physics Students
