People Behind the Science Lecture Series: Michael WinikoffJanuary 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. to noon
"The People Behind the Science Lecture Series" through the Biology Department has invited seven speakers to give seminars about their research specialties and career paths throughout J-term, and we invite you to attend. This series is designed to show the diversity of early- and late-stage STEM careers in biology and highlight the real and relatable people that are behind the science.
Our next seminar speaker will be Michael Winikoff, who is the Director of the Science Communication Lab at the University of Minnesota and focuses on the intersection between science, art, and design. His talk will take place in Nobel Hall from 11 am to12 pm CT on Wednesday, January 18 and will focus on methods of science communication to non-expert audiences and the implications of emerging bio-technology.
Our next speakers will be Ashley Selee and Jean Pengra from Minnesota State University Mankato, who will be giving a seminar on fire ecology and environmental heterogeneity in Oak systems on January 20th from 11 am to 12 pm in Nobel Hall-Room 2220.
