Description

"The People Behind the Science Lecture Series" through the Biology Department has invited seven speakers to give seminars about their research specialties and career paths throughout J-term, and we invite you to attend! This series is designed to show the diversity of early- and late-stage STEM careers in biology and highlight the real and relatable people that are behind the science.

Our next seminar speakers will be Ashley Selee and Jean Pengra, who are current Master's students within the Biology Department at Minnesota State University Mankato. Their talk will take place in Nobel Hall from 11 am to12 pm CT on Friday, January 20 and will focus on their current research in fire ecology and environmental heterogeneity within native Oak systems.

Our next speaker will be Dr. Michael Joyner, who is an Anesthesiologist and Physiologist within the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He will be giving a talk on his career path experiences in medicine and exercise science research. His talk will take place on January 25th from 11 am to 12 pm in Nobel Hall-Room 2220.
