People Behind the Science Lecture Series: Alexis Shatrau & Nisha Paneru RegmiJanuary 9 at 12:30–1:30 p.m.
The People Behind the Science Lecture Series" through the Biology Department has invited seven speakers to give seminars about their research specialties and career paths throughout J-term, and we invite you to attend! This series is designed to show the diversity of early- and late-stage STEM careers in biology and highlight the real and relatable people that are behind the science.
Our next sperakers will be Alexis Shatrau & Nisha Paneru Regmi, who are M.S students within the Plant Pathology Department at the University of Minnesota, who focus on plant-pathogen interactions in crop species. Their joint talk will be in Nobel Hall 1540 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, January 8 and will focus on their current research studying plant-fungal interactions on soybeans and onions.
Our next speaker will be Dr. Erin Eberhard a stream ecologist post-doctoral scholar from Kent State Univesity, who will be giving a seminar on nutrient and metal Cycling in spatially variable aquatic ecosystems on Thursday January 11 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Nobel Hall-Room 1540.
