Gustavus Adolphus College Peer Assistant Mission: The Peer Assistants use peer health promotion to engage, inform, and inspire the Gustavus community to embrace a culture of wellbeing. The Peer Assistants promote healthy lifestyles as:
FRIENDS by welcoming and listening to people's thoughts and feelings.
EDUCATORS by offering information and programming, and by connecting students with campus resources.
ACTIVISTS by creating partnerships and networks, promoting healthy attitudes and behaviors, and refusing to be passive bystanders.
ROLE MODELS by leading healthy and meaningful lives.
TEAM MEMBERS by supporting and encouraging each other.

Peer Assistants are students who volunteer their time and energy support the Wellbeing Center. Their purposes are to identify student needs, coordinate ideas and suggestions, and assemble informational programs to support the Gustavus community in matters concerning lifestyles of health and wellbeing. Specific examples include: The Inside Scoop for first years, FTS presentations, SNL, hosting speakers like Mike Domitrz (Can I Kiss You?), and Midnight Express. The Peer Assistants also have the opportunity to attend the National Bacchus/Gamma Peer Educator Conference.
