Passion for Lifelong Learning - "JFK Assassination: The Myth and Legend"November 19, 2013 at 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Join Gustavus alumni, parents, and friends for our second Passion for Lifelong Learning event. David Jones '83 will present "JFK Assassination: The Mystery and Legend eon Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the American Swedish Institute (2600 Park Ave, Minneapolis).

Where were you when JFK was assassinated? After half a century, this event still sparks discussion and controversy. Join us for a balanced discussion of one of the pivotal events of the 20th century. Even though the Warren Commission found that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, more than 70% of Americans today believe there was a conspiracy. Why is that? What are the pieces of evidence that are in dispute? This presentation covers the basics of the assassination, the trip to Dallas, the conclusions of the Warren Commission and the ongoing debate. Rather than answer the question, "Who shot JFK? ethis presentation will address "Why are we still talking about this? e/p>

Jones spent 24 years in the financial services industry and 3 years in the nonprofit sector. He has been speaking to a wide range of audiences, including schools, churches, senior citizen centers, senior living communities, veterans and civic groups, community education programs, and others since 1996.
