Opening reception: Putting Data Into ContextOctober 5, 2021 at 5–7 p.m.

An opening reception for the exhibit "On morning softness and calm" will be held in the Schaefer Art Gallery. This exhibit features works by Arlene Birt.

About the Artist:

Arlene Birt is a visual storyteller, speaker, educator, and public artist. She is the founder and chief visual storyteller at Background Stories: working with change-making organizations in the US, EU, and UK to translates complex ideas, systems, and metrics into clear visuals that help people understand sustainability. Birt is an expert in information visualization and narrative visuals to communicate sustainability. She teaches courses on infodesign, data visualization, sustainability, and entrepreneurship at Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
