Description

An opening reception for two concurrent exhibitions, Connected with Water (Paintings by Gudrun Westerlund) and Swedish-American Works from the Hillstrom Collection will be held at the Hillstrom Museum of Art Monday, Nov. 23, 7 to 9 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public, and Swedish artist Gudrun Westerlund, from Uppsala, will be in attendance and will make informal comments on her tempera paintings in the Connected with Water exhibition, which she considers a "poetical investigation"related to and about the experience and meaning of water, especially as connected with Westerlund's childhood in northern Sweden.

Westerlund will also give a more formal guided tour of her exhibition the following day, Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 1:30 to approximately 2:30 p.m., also free an open to the public.

The exhibition is supported with assistance from the Swedish Council of America and the Scandinavian Studies Program of Gustavus Adolphus College.
