Description

As a prelude to The 48th Nobel Conference, "Our Global Ocean", Professor William Fitgerald will be on campus to deliver a talk titled "Iron in the Oceans: What's the fuss about?" Can iron additions (i.e., "Fe fertilization e to the oceans stimulate phytoplankton growth and lead to a reduction in atmospheric CO2? This presentation will explore the biogeochemical basis for the provocative claim that half a sea-going tanker of iron would yield another ice age.
