W32.Sasser.Worm.
A virus targeting a newly released security problem in windows is spreading on the internet. Symantec has upgraded it to a level 4 threat.
It attempts to exploit the LSASS vulnerability described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-011, and spreads by scanning randomly-chosen IP addresses for vulnerable systems.
Users should make sure their systems are patched (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) check for virus definitions later than May1, 2004.
