Announcement: New Move Out Donations Program

Audience:Students
Description

The Johnson Center for Environmental Innovation and Facilities are introducing the new Trash 2 Treasure Move Out Donation Program this spring!

When: May 12-17

Who: Open to all students living in on-campus residential halls.

Why: To collect and redistribute gently used items that might otherwise be thrown into dumpsters headed for a landfill. These items will be sorted and available to the campus community at a fun campus-wide event in the fall.

What: Check out the Accepted Items list and plan ahead to drop your items off at the nearest collection station. We cannot accept large couches or other very heavy furniture, so please plan accordingly.

Where: This year there will be collection stations for donations of gently used items at the following locations:

  • College View: Large multi-use room
  • Norelius: Lounge - area closest to dumpster
  • Plex: Basement of North
  • Pittman: Basement
  • Sohre: Basement
  • Southwest: Kitchen/lounge area

Residents in other on-campus housing may bring items to these collection stations. These stations will be Drop and Swap style: students and staff are also welcome to take any items they will use from the donation stations at any time during Finals Week.
