Multicultural Workshop with Rev. Dr. Jamie WashingtonSeptember 12, 2014 at 9 a.m. to noon

Multicultural Affairs and Diversity & Inclusion staff professionals from peer institutions in Minnesota are invited to attend a workshop facilitated by Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington from the Social Justice Training Institute. The workshop name and description are as follows: "Burn Out or TURN OUT? Maintaining motivation and engagement in social justice, diversity, and inclusion work can be difficult, but especially when resistance and roadblocks to your efforts are strong. When resistance is high, so are symptoms of burnout. This workshop will help Multicultural Office staff to: find coping mechanisms for processing resistance and to combat burnout, gauge where their institutions are in terms of cultural competency and inclusion efforts, as well as provide tangible skills on how to move that resistance toward positive change."
