Description
Come, see Mercury cross the face of the Sun. On Wednesday, Nov. 8, the planet Mercury will be visible in silhouette as it slides across the Sun's face. The event, called a transit, lasts about five hours as Mercury, which orbits the Sun in just 88 days, laps Earth. If the weather is clear, there will be telescopes available for viewing from 1 to 4:45 p.m. on the roof of Olin. Transit begins at 1:12 p.m. and ends after sunset. Stop by anytime.
