Description

What counts as progress in science? We contrast realist and pragmatist
pictures of progress. We test them first against a recognized achievement of
the scientific revolution, Galileo on inertia. Then we move to the Bell
Theorem on quantum entanglement, celebrated in the 2022 Nobel Prize in
physics. (Yes, along the way, we show how to prove the theorem.)
