This workshop invites all faculty to come together to talk about how to write effective letters of recommendation for students applying to graduate programs, professional schools, internships and jobs, and national and international fellowships.

Jeff Stocco (Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs), Terry Morrow (Pre-law program director) and Alisa Rosenthal (Fellowships Coordinator in the Gustavus Fellowships Office), will share their experiences talking with employers, fellowship agencies and graduate program directors. Faculty will be invited to share their own best practices from across the disciplines.

Appetizers and wine will be served.

Those registering and attending the workshop will receive a copy of the very useful manual "Writing Recommendation Letters: A Faculty Handbook. e This text contains tips, sample letters, and an explanation of various fellowship programs.
