Description
Dr.Rebecca Shlafer and Erica Gerrity from the University of MN have been working with incarcerated women and their children for many years. One out of 6 children in Minnesota have had a parent incarcerated. Their work with children and their incarcerated parent(s) has caught the eye Sesame Street, who worked with them to publish information for children of incarcerated parents. They have also been asked to White House who called them to the Wite House to talk about their project. They will be on campus Oct. 12, 8 am - 10 am in the Konferensrum to talk with faculty and staff. They will also be speaking to students in anursing public health class from 10:30 -11:20 am in FAM room 214. Other students are welcome to attend.
