Illusionist Christopher CarterFebruary 12, 2010 at 8–9 p.m.
Christopher Carter is an illusionist who has performed at colleges and corporate venues across the United States. He has appeared on television and was featured on the covers of American Entertainment Magazine and Campus Activities Magazine. Campus Activities has also recognized Carter with the Readers' Choice awards for Best Live Novelty Performer and Best Male Artist of the Year. Christopher Carter's show, Theater of Thoughts, proves to audiences why he is recognized as one of the world's most skilled, creative and original thought readers. Amazing? Yes.
Believing that the mind is the last great unexplored frontier, Christopher will:
Have coins placed upon his eyes, which are then duct-taped shut; then describe objects that are held up by audience members, even duplicating signatures and correctly identifying the serial number on currency that is safely hidden in an audience member's pocket or purse.
Cause a light bulb to explode purely through his powers of concentration
Astound audience members with personal facts that they have never before revealed - to anyone.
Make audience members believe that they are experiencing touches and taps from invisible hands.
Great, so what is an illusionist? Illusionism is a performing art in which its practitioners use mental acuity, cold reading, hot reading, principles of stage magic, and/or suggestion to present the illusion of mind reading, psychokinesis, extra-sensory perception, precognition, clairvoyance or mind control. Hypnosis may also be used as a stage tool.
Be sure to bring all your friends and fill Alumni Friday, Feb. 12 and find out for yourself exactly what an illusionist is. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show will start at 8 p.m.
