Description
Regular museum hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. weekends. Photographic portraits of prominent literary figures will be featured in "Photographers and Authors: A Collection of Portraits of Twentieth-Century Writers," on loan from the Carleton College Collection; "Recent Photographs by Don Palmgren: Pinholes and Others" includes photographs of Palmgren's dog and of a recent trip to Ireland and the photographs were taken using a pinhole camera; "Recent Acquisitions by the Hillstrom Museum of Art" will open with the latest additions to the museum's permanent collection, several given in honor of the museum's namesake, the Rev. Richard Hillstrom; and a drawing by French artist Jacques-Louis David depicting Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, the ancestor of Count Folke Bernadotte, along with an autographed letter written by Bernadotte in 1799.
