Description

Decentralization, outcome-based resource allocation, and a contested new quality assurance system have transformed Swedish higher education over the last decades. Will the development towards market-like solutions continue, or is the pendulum turning back towards the once dominating ideals of democratization and equal access for all?

Dr. Bohlin is a professor of philosophy at S??dert??rn University in Sweden, and is currently an American-Scandinavian Foundation Swedish Visiting Lecturer at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. Dr. Bohlin's lecture is sponsored by ASF and the Scandinavian Studies Department.
