Dr. Liping Wang will deliver a lecture entitled, "Women in China: Rural Violence, Urban Labor and the Promises of Capitalism," as part of the Gustavus Global Insight China Visiting Scholar Lecture Series.
Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Minnesota and has conducted field work in rural China for more than a decade. The event is free and open to the public. This lecture series is made possible by the generous support of the Diversity Center, the Gustavus Faculty Lecture Series, the Diversity Center, the GWS Program, First Term Seminar, Peace Studies, and the departments of Communication Studies, English, History, Japanese Studies, Modern Foreign Languages, Philosophy, and Sociology and Anthropology
