Description
Come join the Campus Activities Board in welcoming Shelly Tochluk to campus. Tochluk, author of Witnessing Whiteness and an expert on racial identity, will address the importance of race as an essential topic of conversation. How history has shaped our contemporary ideas of race as well as how the idea of color-blindness actually creates more problems are just a few of the areas she will be covering. Her story of how she came to identify as a white anti-racist person will help explain the role of privilege in our society and what can be done to combat ingrained beliefs that get passed on through generations.
