Description

Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations 22nd annual convention. Theme for the day will be "Hear the Word--Live the Word!" Dr. Terence E. Fretheim, Elva B. Lovell Professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary, will deliver the keynote address. Worship at 9:30 a.m. will feature Rev. Terry Morehouse as homilist. Three afternoon workshops including presentation and discussion will be held 1:10-3:00 p.m.

8:30 a.m. Registration and coffee (Jackson Campus Center lower level)

9:30 a.m. Morning Worship in Christ Chapel - Rev. Terry Morehouse, homilist; enjoy the music of the Choir of Christ Chapel and the Christ Chapel Bells

10:10 a.m. Welcome and GACAC Business Meeting: Address by President Jack Ohle; elections (Christ Chapel)

11 a.m. Keynote address: "Implications of a God in Relationship" by Dr. Terence E. Fretheim (Christ Chapel)

Noon Luncheon (Alumni Hall - RSVP required)

Presentation of the Covenant Award 2009 to the Rev. Gary F. Anderson

Student reflections of faith development at Gustavus

1:10-3:00 p.m. Workshops, participants may choose one track:

I. "Relationship with God: Self Transformation," led by Dr. Mark A. Throntveit

II. "Relationship with God: Loving our Neighbor," led by Dr. Mary Sue Dreier

III. "Relationship with God: Caring for the Whole World," led by Dr. Terence Fretheim
