GACAC and Alumni Service Award to be presented to Gerald Hoffman '59November 8, 2011 at 10–10:20 a.m.
The Association of Congregations and Alumni Service Award 2011 will be presented to the Reverend Gerald Hoffman ''59 of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota, during daily worship in Christ Chapel. The award recognizes alumni and former students of the college who have made distinctive commitments and contributions to the service of others.
Recognized for his vision and leadership in congregations, Hoffman's contributions are unique in the field of stewardship education. He has been an influence and mentor to seminarians, pastors, and faculty colleagues at Luther Seminary, having developed a multifaceted program for effective stewardship leadership, including courses, workshops, and a host of resources available for use. All eight ELCA seminaries have been influenced by his work creating a prototype for education of church leaders, which he created as director of Luther Seminary's Center for Stewardship Leadership, and his work has been replicated at other seminaries. Please join us in congratulating Jerry Hoffman as recipient of this year's award.
