Announcement: G.O.L.D. Classes Begin!
Gusties in Ongoing Leadership Development (G.O.L.D.) serves as the cornerstone for leadership development at Gustavus. G.O.L.D. is sponsored by a collaboration of the Campus Activities Office and Center for Servant Leadership at Gustavus Adolphus College, and provides three different tracks for students to learn more about themselves as leaders. The program aims to foster a deep understanding of leadership principles and practices and to empower students to live as authentic leaders.
There are no pre-requisites/ membership/ or roles necessary for participating in the G.O.L.D. program. It is open to and FREE for all students, first years through seniors, and is designed to meet ALL students' personal development needs.
Exemplary Leadership : This track is based in the Student Leadership Challenge model by Kouzes and Posner and will help mobilize students to achieve extraordinary things. These classes will be held in Beck Hall 117 from 2:30-4:00pm on Fridays and will be taught by Andrea Junso & Amy Pehrson.
Self-Leadership : This track contains a series of tests, inventories, assessments and surveys in order to assist students in learning more about themselves as leaders. Classes will be held in Beck Hall 101 from 2:30-4:00pm on Fridays and will be taught by a variety of campus experts.
Servant Leadership: This track will help students understand and apply the principles of the Servant Leadership model through knowing themselves, serving others and committing to lead. These classes will be held in Beck Hall 119 on Fridays from 2:30-4:00pm and will be taught by Barb Larson-Taylor and Dave Newell.
