"The Commitments" is a 1991 Irish film about the rise of Dublin's hottest soul band. The screenplay is by Roddy Doyle and direction by Alan Parker. The film is being offered as part of Irish Film Week as a "preview" of the Conflict, Social Justice, and Ethnic Relations in Ireland 3-Course Cluster available during January Term 2005.
