Friday, Oct. 4
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.--Check in at the Information Desk, Campus Center
*Pick up your event tickets, name tags, and any schedule updates for the weekend and get all of your questions answered. Don't miss this important step.

8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.--Class visits in various locations
*You are invited to attend various classes throughout the day and experience firsthand the academic programs offered by Gustavus. Check the Family Weekend Web site by clicking here for a list of open classes, pick up a list when you check-in, or request attendance in a specific class by having your student make arrangements in advance with the professor.

8 p.m.--Movie: Scooby Doo in Wallenberg Auditorium, Nobel Hall
*Come watch this "fun for all ages" hit movie before it hits the video stores. This event is free for Gustavus students and their families.

Saturday, Oct. 5
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.--Check-in at the Information Desk, Campus Center

8:30 a.m.- noon--Pictures with Gus at the Information Desk, Campus Center
*A huge hit last year, GUS is BACK. Get a family photo with the campus mascot and take it home in a photo button.

All Day--Discover Linnaeus Arboretum

10 a.m.--Parent Session I "Academics," Jackson Campus Center Banquet Room
*Talk with Gustavus Adolphus faculty and staff about your student's academic development, including questions related to the First Year Experience program. Refreshments will be served starting at 9:15 a.m.

11 a.m.--Parent Session II "Student Life," Jackson Campus Center Banquet Room
*Talk with members of the Division of Student Affairs about your child's development during this time of growth and about the College's relationship with you as a parent.

11 a.m.--Women's Soccer vs St. Olaf at Lund Center

1 - 3 p.m.--Diversity Center Open House in Jackson Campus Center
*Stop by for some snacks and learn how the Diversity Center serves your student and the College.

1 p.m.--Football vs St. John's at Hollingsworth Field

5:30 p.m.--Family Weekend Banquet in Evelyn Young Dining Room
*Advanced tickets are needed for this limited-seating event. Cost is $10 for adults and students, $5.50 for children 10 and under. Dress casual and serving begins promptly at 5:30.

6:30 - 7 p.m.--State of the College Address in Evelyn Young Dining Room
*President and Mrs. Johnson will formally welcome you to campus. Find out the latest happenings and current state of affairs at Gustavus Adolphus College. You do NOT need to attend the banquet to attend the address.

8 p.m.--Arianna String Quartet in Björling Recital Hall
*One of America's finest chamber ensembles makes its debut at Gustavus during its tenth anniversary season. Advance tickets: $10 adults; $7 students, seniors and Gustavus faculty/staff; $4 GA students.

8 p.m.--Chicago Comedy Company in Alumni Hall
*This ensemble of talented improvisers and actors promises clean, inclusive material and audience participation to get you laughing.

8 p.m.--Movie: Scooby Doo in Wallenberg Auditorium, Nobel Hall

9 - 11 p.m.--Sky Watch in Olin Hall, 4th Floor
*Stop in any time during these two hours to gaze into the starry sky from the Olin Observatory with Gustavus physics professors and students.

Sunday, October 6
8 a.m. - noon--Check-in at the Information Desk, Campus Center

8:30 - 9:30 a.m.--Morning Coffee at Faculty/Staff Center, Campus Center
*Enjoy complimentary coffee, juice, and pastries to start off your day right.

9** and 10:30 a.m.--Holy Communion, Christ Chapel Choir and special music
*Hear words for your heart, and music for your ears in beautiful Christ Chapel.
** (Consider attending the 9 a.m. service which traditionally has been less crowded.)


10 a.m. - 1 p.m.--Family Weekend Brunch in the Evelyn Young Dining Room
*Enjoy the music of the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble and the Gustavus Jazz Lab Band. Advance reservation requested. Advanced tickets are not necessary; you will pay cash for your meal selections.

1:30 p.m.--Adolphus Band, Gustavus Band, Gustavus Choir, Gustavus Orchestra, and Christ Chapel Choir in Christ Chapel.

2 p.m.--Women's Soccer vs Luther at Lund Center

4 p.m.--Men's Soccer vs Luther at Lund Center

4:30 p.m.--Minority and Host Family Dinner at a location to be announced.
*A short program will occur during this dinner. While admission is free, please indicate your desire to attend in advance.

All Weekend
Book Mark hours: Fri. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat. and Sun. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Hillstrom Museum of Art hours: Fri. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sat. and Sun. 1 - 5 p.m.

Lund Center hours: Fri. 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m. - 9 p.m., Sun. 1 - 10:30 p.m.

Linnaeus Arboretum hours: All day Saturday or at your leisure

Parking Information: On Friday, prior to 5 p.m., park in the Visitor's Parking area by the 3 flags. For the remainder of the weekend park in any color zone on campus.
