Gustavus faculty and staff are encourgaed to attend an informal discussion with Dr. Jonathan Walton, the presenter of the 2017 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Lecture. As an institution that was founded by immigrants and rooted in the ELCA tradition, our discussion will focus on our ethical and moral obligation to combat hate from an interpersonal level to the organizational level.

Dr. Walton is a social ethicist and scholar of American religions. He serves as the Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard University, Pusey Minister in Harvard's Memorial Church, and professor of religion and society on the faculty of divinity.
