Everyone wants to be a N***a but nobody wants to be N***er: The Evolution of the N-wordFebruary 13, 2013 at 7–9 p.m.
PASO is proud to present the MOST controversial event of the year: "Everyone wanna be a N***a but Nobody Wanna be a N***er."
This interactive event will be lead by three presenters who will bring historical understanding of the most exploited yet socially accepted word. The presenters promise to be thought provoking, intriguing, and interactive. This is not just for white people, black people or a certain race group. This event was created with everyone in mind. No one is being blamed, no one is being victimized.
ALL ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME but SPACE IS LIMITED SO COME EARLY.
Bring your questions, concerns or anything you want to ask! This event welcomes all sides of the debate (it will be more exciting that way!)
Some Questions Already Asked:
*If they can say it, why can't we all say that word?
*If it is so harmful, why do black rappers and people say it so loosely?
*It is empowering.
*No, it is degrading.
*"This is post-racism. We should all say it freely."
** Audience should be aware the the N-Word and other sensitive words will be used in this event for the purpose of education.
