Description
We have had several people call about problems sending mail using older versions of Eudora. If a Gustavus user tried to send a message to a non-existant Gustavus address, postfix would respond with a 450 error instead of the 550 error that sendmail gave. Both 450 and 550 indicate that the mailbox is unavailable, but 550 means it is permanent, while 450 may be temporary. Older Eudora clients would leave the message in the queue and keep trying after receiving the 450 error, preventing other mail from going out. We changed Postfix to respond with the proper 550 code, so now the usual error should display indicating that it is not a valid Gustavus address.
