Engaging College Men in Work for the Common GoodMarch 10, 2011 at 7–8:30 p.m.

Dr. Miles Groth and Dr. Gar Kellom will be speaking as the key note speakers in the "Gustavus Men's Lives Series, eheld by M-Pact. Dr. Gar Kellom is the lead member of a research and theory team established by the Lilly Endowment to address the issues of men's leadership, spiritual life, service, and vocation on college campuses. He was also the founder of the Center for Men's Leadership and Service at Saint John's University, which sponsored the pilot program of which Gustavus was one of the original fourteen members. Kellom is currently director of Student Support Services at Winona State University. Dr. Miles Groth is professor of psychology at Wagner College, Staten Island, New York. In 2007, he applied for a grant provided by the Lilly Endowment, administered by St. John's University, for implementing a project to study how to engage college men in campus life. This led to co-editing, with Dr. Kellom, Engaging College Men: Discovering What Works and Why, which includes two chapters about the Gustavus Men's Leadership Initiative from which M-Pact was born. Come join special guests Dr. Groth and Dr. Kellom for a presentation titled "Engaging College Men in Work for the Common Good" followed by conversation.
