We are currently having a problem with e-mail aliases.

If someone creates and/or sends e-mail to an alias that has one or more invalid names, some members of the list were getting multiple copies of the message.

Dan and Ethan have changed the way the aliases are processed to stop the multiple copies of messages problem. If a user sends a message to list with an invalid username, the sending should get notification back regarding the problem.

This is something we are working on - so things may change.
